about
Having lost my father recently and hearing sorrow in many of my friends voices and their personal concerns I realized something: As humans we all learn to cry, long before we learn to smile. It's important to know how to do both and hopefully with time, one follows the other.
I was lost and all the pieces
Of this puzzle called a life
Falling Down for no good reasons
Rainbows fade to black and white
Up and down just like a piston
Under pressure I fought back
Stalling as I failed to listen
Belaying like a steeplejack
Spiraling down with torqued precision
Locked and loaded sealed within
Crippled by this inner vision
Seeing things that hadn’t been
Life, can drag you down
But then you come around
You'll have to cry for just a while
Life, it twists and turns
Like every infant learns
You learn to cry before you smile
Winter is a lonely season
Dark before the day is through
It's hard to think of any reason
Yet here I stand to spite the view
Open-ended invitation
When it ends is just a guess
For now this is my only station
Life goes on, we do our best
Spinning on this ancient planet
Privileged life within a sphere
Can’t imagine life without out
So cling to all you love that’s here
Life, can drag you down
But then you come around
You'll have to cry for just a while
Life, it twists and turns
Like every infant learns
You learn to cry before you smile
